Event Recap – 24th Annual Breast & Whole Health Awareness Forum
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, The Wellness Groups hosted an empowering morning at the Proud Bird Events Center, Tuskegee Ballroom!
Inspiring speakers included:
With the uplifting energy of DJ Ms. Cookie and our amazing MC, Diana Layne White, the day was full of empowerment, fun, and sisterhood!
Guests received glossy pink gift bags filled with inspirational goodies — writing notebook, diamond-top ink pen, mirror, and more! Guests also enjoyed great resource vendors and exciting prizes fabulous prize giveaways from BJ’s Restaurants, Harold & Belle’s, Simply Wholesome, Stuff I Eat, Trader Joe’s, and Truxton’s!
Our mission remains strong: to empower women with education, inspiration, and sisterhood while promoting breast health and early detection.

Michelle Moore Bell has dedicated over 40 years to helping women look and feel their best.
In 1994, Michelle founded The Wellness Groups, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on breast health awareness and empowering women to lead healthier lives, housed within her beauty and hair care salon, SALON 21.
Michelle's commitment to service has earned her widespread recognition and numerous accolades for her leadership, community service, and dedication to women's wellness, including recognition from BMW, NAWBO, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and many others and remains an active member of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ for 34-years and is actively engaged in various community and professional organizations.
Michelle has been featured in Who's Who in Black Los Angeles and was included in an exhibit by photographer Valerie Goodloe showcasing African American leaders in Los Angeles.
A native of Muncie, Indiana, Michelle has called Los Angeles home since 1978. She cherishes the legacy of her late husband, Richard L. Bell, with whom she shared 27 wonderful years.

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the Wellness Groups kicked-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Wellness Groups - Breast Health Awareness empowered women on breast health, breast cancer, mental health and heart health with moderator Rhonda E. Smith, ED of CA Black Health Network, and health experts Dr. Renee M. Poole, MD, MMM, CPE, FAAFP; and Arnedra Jordan, MPH, Health Equity Advocate/Project Manage-Black Women for Wellness.
It was a morning of health awareness empowerment, sisterhood, creating new relationships and fun with the photo op wall, snap picture booth and our favorite caricature artist, Mario.

The Wellness Group hosted the Annual Breast & Whole Health Forum for Women at West Angeles Church Crystal Room for 9 years until the pandemic.
On Saturday, May 1, 2021, held a virtual Healthy Lifestyle Forum.
On October 2, 2021, The Wellness Groups hosted the 20th Annual Health Forum at the historic Wilfandel Clubhouse Garden in the Adams District. It was a day filled with education, empowerment, joyful music, a delicious lunch, photo booth fun, a caricature artist, engaging vendors, giveaways, prizes, celebration, and more.
